How Cyproom works: a few introductions, every Thursday, no shop window

Cyproom is a private dating service for people who live in Cyprus. You do not browse profiles and nobody browses yours: once a week we introduce you to a few people who fit what you are looking for — and who are looking for someone like you. This guide walks through the whole journey, what it costs and who sees what, with no small print.

Where we are today

Today only the waitlist is open. Everything below about Thursday introductions, chats and payments applies when we open. If anything important changes before then, you will see it before you create an account.

At a glance

  • No browsing. There is no profile page, no search bar and no "people near you". You cannot search for others either.
  • Everyone is ID-verified before anyone can see them — the same rule for everyone you will see. Adults only.
  • Every Thursday at 18:00 you get up to 3 introductions, each with 2–3 things you genuinely have in common.
  • You answer privately within 72 hours. Nobody ever finds out that you said no.
  • A mutual yes opens a 7-day chat, text only. Your first one is free; after that either of you can open it for €7, once, for both of you.
  • No subscriptions, no boosts, no paying to jump the queue. The same price for everyone.

What exists today and what comes next

We would rather tell you plainly than sell you something that does not exist yet.

  • Live today

The free waitlist, with e-mail confirmation, your own page and a link to bring friends. Leaving takes one click and your entry is deleted at once.

  • Built, not open to the public yet

Accounts (e-mail sign-in, no password), the profile, photos checked on our own server, the ID check with Stripe, reporting and blocking. We are testing them before we open.

  • When we open

Thursday introductions, the 7-day chat, payments, “Who has seen me” and the private “Did you feel safe?” question after every date.

We open once the waitlist has enough people and the right balance, aiming for early 2027. The waitlist does not tie us to a fixed date; people on it hear first.

From the waitlist to your first Thursday

  1. Waitlist (30 seconds)

Your e-mail, whether you are a woman, a man or non-binary, your age, your district and the languages you would date in. You confirm with one button in the e-mail and get your own page.

  2. Invitation

We open in waves so that every week has enough people on both sides. People who bring friends get in earlier. You will receive an e-mail with your sign-in link.

  3. Account

Your date of birth, the community rules in three lines, the terms, and your mobile number with an SMS code. There is no password: you sign in each time with a link or a six-digit code sent to your e-mail.

  4. Profile (about 8 minutes)

Seven short steps, one topic per screen: you, who you are looking for, family, habits (optional), a few lines in your own words, photos, and finally your card exactly as others will see it. Whatever you told the waitlist is already filled in.

  5. ID check (2–3 minutes)

On your phone, on Stripe's secure pages: document only, or document and selfie — your choice. The details are in our guide to the ID check.

  6. Thursday

You are ready. Your first introductions arrive the following Thursday at 18:00, Cyprus time.

The Thursday rhythm

Every Thursday at 18:00 we send you up to 3 introductions. Each card shows a first name, age, area (small villages only appear as "a village in the district"), roughly how long the drive from you is, which ID check the person passed, 2–3 things you really have in common and what they wrote in their own words. The photo is low-resolution and carries your own name across it, so a screenshot always shows where it came from.

You have 72 hours — until Sunday evening — to answer yes or no. Each of you answers without knowing the other's answer. A no is never shown as a no and needs no explanation. If you both say yes, you find out together.

Why Thursday? Because it is the day weekends get planned, and because a few well-chosen options lead to better decisions than endless scrolling. The rest of the week is for living.

  • Around public holidays introductions may come on another day; the app always shows the date.
  • While you have an open chat you normally get no new introductions, so you are not talking to three people at once.
  • Away? Tap “Away this Thursday”, or pause your account until a date or until you come back.
  • If you leave two weeks of introductions unanswered in a row, your account is paused until you tap “I’m back” — so nobody waits on you for nothing.

Who we introduce you to — and who never

Matching looks at both sides: we only introduce you to someone if you also fit what they asked for. Before any scoring, these rules apply:

  • Who each of you wants to meet (women, men or everyone) and the age range each of you gave, in both directions.
  • How long you would drive for a first date: 15, 30 or 45 minutes, an hour, or "anywhere". The stricter of the two counts, using real road times, not straight lines.
  • At least one shared language: Greek, English, Russian or Ukrainian.
  • If you asked for "only people looking for something serious", we will not introduce you to people who want to take things slowly and see.
  • Whatever you mark as a dealbreaker (for example "no smoking") is a dealbreaker. Someone who wants children is never introduced to someone who does not.
  • Never anyone on your “Hide from people I know” list, never anyone you blocked or who blocked you, and only members who passed the ID check and are not paused.

We cannot promise introductions every week: it depends on how many suitable members live near you. Women looking for women and men looking for men are matched within their own group, so in the first months they may get fewer introductions. It is never about money.

The €7 rule — and why there are no subscriptions

We do not want to earn money while you stay single. That is why there is no monthly subscription: you only pay when there is something to open.

  • Your account, profile, ID check and introductions are free.
  • After a mutual yes, the 7-day chat opens for €7, once, paid by whichever of you wants to. It opens for both; the other person is never charged and never learns who paid.
  • Your first chat is free. The first 300 members who pass the ID check after we open get 2 free. Every friend who joins through your link and starts receiving introductions earns you both one free chat (up to 5).
  • If the other person writes nothing within 72 hours, a free chat is returned to you automatically — or your money, if you ask within 14 days. If their account is paused or closed before you exchange a first message, you get the full amount back.
  • If you both tap “Keep talking”, the chat gets another 7 days, free.

Never on Cyproom: monthly subscriptions, paid boosts, paid priority, ads. Today we sell nothing — the waitlist is free.

Privacy: who sees what

In Cyprus everyone knows everyone, so Cyproom is built so that only the few people we picked for you that week can see you.

  • Your card goes only to that week's people, 3 at most. With “Who has seen me” you always see the name of everyone who saw it.
  • All your photos in full resolution are seen only by someone you both said yes to.
  • Never shown: your surname, your exact address, your answers on smoking, drinking and religion, and who you want to meet.
  • “Hide from people I know”: add the phone numbers or e-mails of an ex, colleagues or relatives, and we will never introduce you — in either direction. They never find out.
  • In the chat, phone numbers, e-mails and social media handles stay hidden until you agree a date inside the app.
  • Our e-mails and texts are discreet: the subject line never says "dating" or "match".
  • No advertising cookies, no selling data, no outside AI companies. Our server is in the European Union and photo checks run there.

The full details are in our privacy policy.

Safety, in one paragraph

The ID check confirms you are talking to a real adult with a genuine document — not that they are a good person. That is why there is one-tap reporting and blocking, and the other person never learns who did it. Accounts that cause problems are paused automatically; suspending an account is always a person's decision. Frequently asked questions

When do you open?

When the waitlist has enough people and the right balance, aiming for early 2027. We open by invitation, in waves; people who bring friends get in earlier, and everyone gets an e-mail.

Can I look someone up?

No. There is no search and no profile directory — not for you and not for anyone else. That is exactly what protects you.

Which areas do you cover?

All of the free (government-controlled) part of Cyprus, from Paphos to Ayia Napa. You choose how long you would drive for a first date.

Which languages?

The service works in Greek, English and Russian. In your profile you say which languages you would date in, and we only introduce people who share at least one.

Is it only for serious relationships?

It is for people who really want to meet someone. You choose between "a serious relationship", "a relationship that could lead to marriage or family" and "meet without rushing and see", and you can ask to meet only people looking for something serious.

What if I get no introduction one Thursday?

It happens, especially at the start or when your criteria are very narrow. You pay nothing. If it keeps happening, try a slightly longer drive, a wider age range or fewer dealbreakers.
