Nicosia · Opening soon
Dating in Nicosia, without a public profile
Every morning Nicosia fills up with ministries, banks, universities and offices, and people from all over the island. A public profile is seen by anyone who opens the app, and here that means someone from work. On Cyproom only the few people we introduce you to each Thursday ever see you.
- No public profile and no search
- Everyone is ID-verified
- Up to 3 introductions each Thursday, not endless lists
Free · 30 seconds · no password
How it works here
Once a week: Thursday at 6 pm
By then you have left the office and the weekend is in sight. You don’t need to open an app every day: once a week you look at your introductions, and the rest of the week is yours.
-
Sign up today
E-mail, gender, age, district and languages: 30 seconds. When it is your turn, we send you an invitation by e-mail. We open in waves, and those who bring friends get in earlier.
-
A few minutes about you
A profile in seven short steps (about 8 minutes), 2–5 photos that are never published, and an ID check with your ID card or passport. A selfie only if you want one.
-
Thursday evening
Up to 3 introductions, each with 2–3 real things in common and the distance in minutes, such as “~15 min from you”. Until Sunday you say “yes” or “not this time”, privately.
-
Only on a mutual yes
Then one of you opens the chat for both of you for €7, and the first time is free. Phone numbers stay hidden until you arrange to meet.
Areas we cover
Nicosia, its suburbs and the villages of the district
In your profile you choose your community from a list of every community in the government-controlled part of Nicosia District. We measure how far apart you are from there; we never ask for an address.
The city and suburbs
Nicosia (centre), Strovolos, Engomi, Agios Dometios, Aglantzia, Lakatamia, Anthoupoli, Latsia, Geri, Tseri.
The villages
Dali, Pera Chorio and Nisou, Kokkinotrimithia, Akaki, Peristerona, Klirou, Lythrodontas, and the Solea valley villages, such as Kakopetria.

How far
How long would you drive for a first date?
You choose one of five limits. We count driving time between areas, not straight-line kilometres: two suburbs can look close on the map, but what matters is the drive.
- 15 min — the centre and the suburbs around it: Strovolos, Engomi, Agios Dometios, Aglantzia, Lakatamia.
- 30 min — the whole city and the nearby villages, such as Latsia, Tseri, Dali, Kokkinotrimithia and Akaki.
- 45 min — plus Larnaca town, Athienou, Peristerona and Klirou.
- 1 hour — almost all of Larnaca District, the Solea valley as far as Evrychou, and Achna towards Famagusta. Limassol, Kakopetria and Ayia Napa are a little further.
- Anywhere — Limassol, Ayia Napa, Paralimni and Paphos too: every area we serve.
The shorter of the two limits applies. If you choose “Anywhere” and the other person “30 min”, we only introduce you if you live within 30 minutes of each other.
Discretion
At work, everybody knows everybody
In a city of offices, a profile that gets around becomes corridor gossip. On Cyproom nobody finds you unless we introduce you.
-
Nobody finds you
There is no search, no profiles to flick through and no “who’s online”. Your card is seen only by the people we introduce you to that Thursday.
-
Hide from people you know
Add the mobiles or e-mails of your manager, colleagues or exes. We never introduce you to each other, and they never learn you added them.
-
Not from your neighbourhood
You can ask us not to introduce you to people from your own area or within 10 minutes of it.
-
Signed photos
Every photo carries the name of the person viewing it. Only someone you have both said “yes” to sees it in full resolution.
First date
Where to meet in Nicosia the first time
Nicosia has no sea, but it has an old town, parks and museums. Choose somewhere public and busy, where you can actually talk.
-
Coffee in the old town
Ledra, Onasagorou and Faneromeni
The pedestrian streets inside the walls are busy day and night, and Faneromeni square is one of the liveliest spots in the city.
-
Walk
Eleftheria Square and the Venetian walls
From the square you step into the old town or walk along the moat. An easy meeting point if you are coming by car.
-
Museum
The Cyprus Museum or the Leventis Municipal Museum
The first holds antiquities from across the island, the second tells the story of Nicosia itself. An hour inside and the conversation takes care of itself.
-
Culture
Famagusta Gate
The city’s cultural centre in the old walls hosts exhibitions and concerts. Check the programme before you go.
-
Lunch
Laiki Geitonia
Lanes of old houses near Eleftheria Square, for a light lunch with no rush.
-
Park
Academy Park, Aglantzia
Paths through the pines, with people out walking and running. Good for late afternoon, once the heat drops.
-
Walk
Pedieos Linear Park
A path for walking or cycling along the river, right through the city. For daytime.
-
Lake
Athalassa National Forest Park
A lake, trails and cycle paths on the edge of the city. Lovely on a Saturday morning.
We have no deals with any venue: nobody pays to appear here. Museum and event hours change, so check before you go. First date ideas in Cyprus
Safety
For a first date that goes well
The ID check confirms the other person is real and an adult. Nobody can guarantee their character, so keep these in mind:
Dating safety and fake profiles · How to spot a scam, and 12 rules for a first date.
- Stay where there are people, such as Ledra Street or Faneromeni. The lanes near the walls empty out late at night.
- The parks (Academy, Athalassa, Pedieos) are for daytime; in the evening, stick to the city.
- Make your own way there and tell someone close to you where you will be and when you expect to finish.
- Don’t share your address, your workplace or any account details. If someone asks for money or suggests an “investment”, report them with one tap.
- If something feels off, leave. You owe nobody an explanation.
If you ever feel in danger
Call 112 wherever you are. For violence in a relationship or a family: 1440, free, 24 hours a day.
Questions
What people in Nicosia ask us
Will you also introduce me to people from Larnaca or Limassol?
If your limit allows it. Larnaca is about 45 minutes from Nicosia and Limassol a little over an hour. With “30 min” you stay in the city and the nearby villages; with “45 min” Larnaca comes in; for Limassol choose “Anywhere”.
I work somewhere where everybody knows everybody. Will they see me?
There is no search, so nobody can find you. With “Hide from people you know” you add the mobiles or e-mails of anyone who should never see your card, and we never introduce you. You also always see who has seen your card.
I’m a student in Nicosia. Can I join?
Yes, if you are at least 18 and live in Cyprus. Everyone goes through the same ID check. If you have two homes, choose the one where you spend most days, because distances are measured from there.
I only speak English. Will I find people in Nicosia?
Cyproom works in Greek, English and Russian. You tell us which languages you would date in, and we only introduce you to people you share a language with. How many people you meet depends on who joins, which is why we only open once the list is big enough.
