Dating in Paphos, for people who live here

In summer Paphos fills with visitors. In winter it belongs to the people who really live here, Cypriots and newcomers alike, in town and in the villages from Peyia to Polis. Cyproom is for them: a few thoughtful introductions every Thursday, with an ID check for everyone.

How it works here

Once a week: Thursday at 6 pm

Introductions arrive together on Thursday evening, so you can calmly plan something for the weekend. For the rest of the week, no app needs your attention.

  1. Sign up for free

An e-mail and four answers, no password. We send invitations in waves; people who bring friends are invited sooner.

  2. Build your profile

Seven short steps (about 8 minutes) and 2–5 photos that are never published. Then an ID check with your ID card or passport, plus a selfie if you like.

  3. Thursday at 6 pm

Up to 3 introductions, with what you share and the distance, for example “~30 min from you”. Distances grow quickly in Paphos, so we always tell you how far someone is.

  4. Yes from both of you

One of you opens the chat for both for €7, and the first time is free. You have 7 days to talk and make a plan.

Areas we cover

The town, the coast and the villages of Paphos

In your profile you find your community in a list of every community in the district, down to the smallest villages. We measure distance from there; we never ask for an address.

The town and around it

Paphos (centre), Kato Paphos, Geroskipou, Chlorakas, Kissonerga, Emba, Tala, Mesogi, Tremithousa, Konia.

The coast and the villages

Peyia and Coral Bay, Tsada, Timi, Mandria, Kouklia, Polis Chrysochous and Latchi, Argaka, and the villages of Laona and Akamas.

Only in Paphos for a few months a year? Cyproom is for people who live in Cyprus, and introductions come once a week, so it suits people who are here most weeks.

How far

How long would you drive for a first date?

Paphos is at the end of the island and distances matter. You choose one of five limits, and we count driving time between areas, not straight-line kilometres.

  • 15 min — the town, Kato Paphos, Geroskipou, Chlorakas and Kissonerga.
  • 30 min — plus Peyia, Kouklia and the villages above the town.
  • 45 min — plus Pissouri in Limassol District. Polis and Latchi are a little further.
  • 1 hour — plus Polis and Latchi, and Limassol with its western suburbs.
  • Anywhere — every area we serve, if you don’t mind the drive to Larnaca or Nicosia.

The shorter of the two limits counts: if you accept 1 hour and someone in Limassol only 30 minutes, we won’t introduce you.

Discretion

A small town, and peace of mind

Circles in Paphos are small, for Cypriots and newcomers alike. Cyproom keeps things private from the very start until the date itself.

  • Nobody searches for you

There are no public profiles and no search. Your card is seen only by the few people we introduce you to that week.

  • Your village stays yours

If you live in a village of fewer than 1,000 people, others only see “a village in Paphos District” and the distance in minutes.

  • Hide from people you know

Add the mobiles or e-mails of anyone who should not see you: exes, relatives, clients. We never introduce you.

  • Phone numbers stay hidden

In the chat, phone numbers, links and social media accounts are hidden automatically until you arrange to meet.

First date

Where to meet in Paphos the first time

Paphos has a harbour, ancient sites and the sea almost everywhere. For a first date, pick somewhere public and busy where you can talk.

  • Seaside walk

    Kato Paphos harbour

From the harbour castle along the seafront: people, light and cafés, even in winter.

  • Archaeology

    Kato Paphos Archaeological Park

The mosaics next to the harbour, on the UNESCO list. Go in daylight and check the closing time first.

  • Late afternoon

    Tombs of the Kings

An open site by the sea, north of the harbour, quiet late in the afternoon before it closes.

  • Coffee in town

Kennedy Square and the Municipal Market

The upper town, with its restored market and the lanes around it. More local than Kato Paphos.

  • Beach

    Coral Bay

Sand and cafés, 20 minutes north of town. Good for a Saturday morning, away from peak summer days.

  • View

    Petra tou Romiou

Aphrodite’s Rock, 25 minutes east. Go in separate cars and stop at the viewpoint with the car park.

  • Village

    Geroskipou

The square with Agia Paraskevi, the five-domed Byzantine church, and the village’s famous loukoumi.

  • Events

    The Pafos Aphrodite Festival

Opera in front of the harbour castle at the end of summer. For anyone who wants something special.

We have no deals with any venue and nobody pays to appear here. Out of season some places close earlier, so check opening hours before you go. First date ideas in Cyprus

Safety

For a first date that goes well

The ID check tells you the other person is real and an adult, not whether they are kind. In Paphos, where distances are long, keep these in mind too:

Dating safety and fake profiles · How to spot a scam, and 12 rules for a first date.

  • Keep the first date in town or at the harbour, not in Akamas, the Avakas gorge or on an isolated beach.
  • Drive yourself, especially if you live in a village. Don’t let the other person pick you up from home.
  • Tell a friend where you will be and what time you expect to be back.
  • Never send money or card details, however convincing the story sounds. Report it with one tap.
  • If you drink, don’t drive: arrange a taxi home.

If you ever feel in danger

Call 112 anywhere in Cyprus. For violence in a relationship or a family, there is the 1440 helpline: free, 24 hours a day.

Questions

What people in Paphos ask us

I don’t speak Greek. Is Cyproom for me?

Yes. Many people in Paphos speak English or Russian, and Cyproom works in all three languages. You say which languages you would date in, and we only introduce you to people you share one with.

Will you introduce me to tourists?

Cyproom is for people who live in Cyprus. Everyone passes an ID check and says where they live, and introductions come once a week, so it does not suit anyone here for a few days’ holiday.

I live in Polis or a village. Will I get introductions?

Polis is about 45 minutes from Paphos town, so with “1 hour” the town is included. The tighter your limit, the fewer possible introductions: if you get few, widen it whenever you like.

Will my village be visible?

Not if it has fewer than 1,000 residents: others see “a village in Paphos District” and how many minutes apart you are. You can also ask us not to introduce you to people from your own area.
